Hilary Duff talks being a mom and having a very easy labor on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

New mom Hilary Duff appeared on a special Mothers Day-themed episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which aired on Friday. The audience was full of expectant moms, and Duff, 24, assured them motherhood is the best thing that ever happened to you. She also opened up about her experience as a mother to her son Luca, and having an easy labor.

Hilary says that although she was four days overdue when it was time to have a baby, she knew.

I went into labor at about one in the morning and I very calmly had my bags packed and woke my husband up after about three hours of walking up and down my hallway, she said. Then Im like, Okay, its time to go, lets go now. We got in the car and drove to the hospital and that was it.

Calling labor very easy, she says her familys antics at the hospital made giving birth an experience she wont forget. She said although they arrived to the hospital in the early morning hours, she didnt start pushing until around noon, according to Us Weekly. At the time she was told to start pushing, her sister and her mom were down in the food court.

We're Southern and from Texas and my mom and my sister actually went down to the food court areaIm like, Now? Like now its time to go? Im like, Call my mom, call my sister, she said. Things start rolling and all of the sudden the doors bust open and my sister and my mom come flying in. They're like, 'We got barbecue chips and root beer, guys.' I [said], 'What? I'm pushing!' They were just arriving for a show with their chips and their root beer."

Duffs son with husband ! Mike Com rie, Luca Cruz Comrie, was born on March 20, and is now two months old. The actress calls motherhood an amazing ride. The best part is watching her son learn new things.

He started to smile about a week ago, and thats the coolest experience. Its all good.
