Hilary Duff's infatuation with son's belly button

Hilary Duff is so enamored by her new role as mom, she keeps her newborn sons belly button sealed in a Ziploc bag in her makeup drawer.

Duff, who is also a new spokesperson for Johnsons Baby Cares initiative, said the belly button falling off was a big milestone for her as a parent, hence she felt the need to reserve time in the plastic bag hidden in her vanity. I wanted to keep it, but my husband was like, No, thats gross, you cant keep it! Im like, Im totally keeping it, and I secretly kept it.
The 24-year-old and her husband, hockey player Mike Comrie, welcomedtheir first child, Luca Cruz, on March 20, and the singer says shes been focused on motherhood since the experience. She also points out that, while she turns over some parenting tasks during the day, she willingly takes control of nursing duties at night.
At night, Im the only one that can feed the baby, explains Duff. I wasnt going to make him [Comrie] suffer just because I was having to get up.
She adds, Its such a wonderful bonding timeJust to have your baby thrive and knowing that youre doing that and youre responsible its such a rewarding feeling.
As spokesperson for Johnsons new initiative, the actress will help to assemble 5,000 Care Kits that will be distributed to families in times of natural disasters. Its a partnership of Johnson Baby products and parent com! pany Joh nson & Johnson, along with the Save the Children organization.
Its such a great thing to have these kits be prepared for these new moms [so they are able] to take care of their babies, she remarks. Thats all thats been on my mind. The second that you have your baby, youre like, Okay, Im 100 percent responsible for this.
Duff has frequently been posting baby updates on her Twitter page, where she also announced her latest sponsorship duty on April 12, tweeting, Big News! Im working w/ JOHNSONS Baby on its new charitable program, JOHNSONS Baby CARESI love being a mom.
