Hilary Duff says having a baby made her marriage stronger

Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie got married in August of 2010. Just one year later on their anniversary, they announced they were expecting their first child together. The couple welcomed their son Luca Cruz Comrie on March 20, and the singer and actress, 24, says becoming a parent was a good thing for her, her husband and their marriage.

Its made [our marriage] stronger, she told Hollyscoop. Having a baby is a lot of hard work and you really depend on each other for a lot. There is so much loveyou cant imagine it until it happens to you and you look at your husband and youre like we did this together. Its a really beautiful thing and we are enjoying it. There are no words There is so much purpose now, there was before but it is just on a whole other level there is so much joy and excitement every single day.

Duff, who takes time out to have date night with her husband, says Mike is really incredible. He's so hands-on, so thoughtful, so loving. He's really a natural [as a father], it's incredible. I got really lucky." She adds that although raising a child isnt easy, it is all worth it.

[Having a child] has just done so much for our family, she said . Mike and I were married before and thats a great feeling but to really have a child and feel that connection, that unit, it really has been an incredible journey.
