Hilary Duff begins baby countdown

Hilary Duff does not want her babys gender to be a surprise.

The star is currently pregnant with her first child with hockey player husband Mike Comrie. Hilary is counting down the days until she knows for sure whether her child is a girl or boy.

The countdown has begun. Every single day, Im like, oh my gosh, seven more days! Hilary told OK! magazine.

Im so not the person who could wait and have it be a surprise. I give them respect, but I dont know how people do that. I need to be totally prepared. I think its going to help me feel even more connected to it, to know what it is.

Hilary has recently remodeled her home to accommodate her upcoming arrival. The finishing touches on the renovations wont be made until her childs gender is confirmed.

I was like lets rework the closet. We put a great bathtub in there that will make it really easy to bathe a baby, Hilary explained.

We havent done any design stuff. We have to find out if were going to be a boy or a girl before we can come up with colours.

The actress is elated to have such a loving partner in Mike. His support throughout her pregnancy gives Hilary great joy.

Hes a really good guy. I feel very lucky. Hes really, really excited about the baby, Hilary said.
