Hilary Duff debuted her first novel, Elixir, last year to much success, garnering a spot on the New York Times bestseller list. Now only days ago she released the second book of the trilogy, Devoted.

Duff tells Entertainment Weekly that Devoted begins right where Elixir left off. Her lead character Clea is feeling extremely disoriented, even though I think shes more of a fighter than most girls in love would be.

She adds: The characters really get tested.

Duff shares that she doesnt know whats next for her in regards to upcoming projects. I still dont know how the third book it totally going to wrap up. I really havent moved on in my head yet from this series. I dont know if writing is really my strongest suit, but I know I have good ideas, she says. Actually, I want to write more music. I miss that.

She also has a baby boy on the way, which will add the job of mom to her busy schedule of acting, writing, and singing.

She talked to Hollywood Crush about her hopes of her novels being turned into movies in the future. She says that her line of work has resulted in her being on movie sets and reading many scripts through most of her life. The ideas that are used in film were always at the back of her mind while writing. I made this book very visual, the dream sequences and the flash backs are very romantic. I could just see doing really cool things to the film with wardrobe and all this stuff that my mind goes to.

She adds that if the right person were interested in buying the rights, she would be very excited to see the trilogy go into film production.

Devoted hits stores alm! ost a ye ar after Elixir, but Duff reveals that the third book will be released soon. The final novel will serve as a wrap up, explaining where characters are, what happened to the Elixir, and answering any left over questions.
